Backup Report in NCM

The Backup Report provides a summary of the configuration backup status for all your network configuration management (NCM) monitors. This report allows network administrators to verify that device configurations are backed up regularly and successfully.

Use cases

The Backup Status Report shows the success or failure of configuration backups across all managed devices.

  • Disaster recovery readiness: Ensure that all devices have a recent and successful backup, which is critical for restoring operations after device failure or misconfiguration.
  • Operational visibility: Quickly identify devices with failed or missing backups.
  • Troubleshooting connection failures: Spot credential or connectivity issues by tracking backup failures.
  • Change management and audits: Confirm that a backup was taken before and after configuration changes.

Generating the Backup Report

  2. Navigate to Reports > NCM Device > Backup Report in the All Monitors section.

  3. The report displays a list of NCM monitors with details such as IP Address, Vendor Name, Device Template, Backup Status, Backup Time, and more.

  4. Use the Group by dropdown to organize devices based on parameters like Vendor, On-Premise Poller, Device Template, and more.

  5. Use the Filters option to narrow down the report by backup status, time range, or specific devices.

  6. Click the Share This button in the top-right corner to export the report as CSV or PDF, email the report, or schedule it at regular intervals.
