creation and update API methods for configuration rules please

As of writing this post there are only retrieve/delete/run/list methods. It would be helpful to be able to create and update these via the API.

My use case would be creating a pipeline to automatically update and run configuration rules whenever somebody checked an update into a source code repository. Benefits:

  • Reduces the amount of toil (all the clicking around) in monitor configuration updates that a person has to do.
  • Narrowly scopes investigations into issues around monitoring changes, from a sizeable amount of audit log reading to checking commit/push/pipeline details.

Hi Folks,

We hear you. Full create and update support for Configuration Rules via the API is something we are actively working on as a planned enhancement. We recognise this is a real pain point for customers who manage monitoring configuration at scale.

In the meantime, we have a workaround for you. Our support team currently shares a script that handles configuration rule creation for customers who need this capability before the API endpoints are officially available. It bridges the gap until the full API support ships.

To get the script, reach out to us at support@site24x7.com with the subject line "Configuration Rules API-Creation Script" and reference this post. The team will get it across to you along with guidance on how to use it in your pipeline setup.

Regards,
Jenzo
