Hi there!
Load balancers are a critical component in your IT infrastructure. We have introduced a major enhancement to Azure Load Balancer monitoring.
With this enhancement, Azure Load Balancer components such as backend pools, backend endpoints, load balancing rules, frontend IPs, and health probes will be monitored as individual associated components. This will help you identify the exact layer where an issue occurs instead of knowing only the parent Load Balancer's status.
Key benefits
- Faster troubleshooting by showing issues directly at the affected component level.
- Better visibility into backend pool health, unhealthy backend hosts, load balancing rules, frontend IPs, and health probe status.
- More granular alerts and reports for Load Balancer components.
- A dependency view to show the detailed root cause among all components.
- Easier root cause identification when traffic distribution, backend availability, or probe health is affected.
Our Dependency View shows you all interconnected components of Azure Load Balancer i.e., rules, configurations, endpoints, and more. With this view, you get to see which component is causing the downtime instead of assigning a technician sift through multiple layers manually and spending hours to find the root cause.

During the build update window, existing Azure Load Balancer monitors may experience a short transition period where the parent monitor continues to function, but the newly enhanced layer-level resources are created only after the next Azure discovery task completes. Until discovery and data collection finish, you may notice temporary alert changes or false alerts; however, once the build deployment and auto‑discovery are complete, monitoring and alerting will resume normally with enhanced layer‑level visibility.
No action is required from your side. This enhancement is being rolled out to improve Azure Load Balancer monitoring accuracy, visibility, and troubleshooting speed.
Happy monitoring!
With best regards from Site24x7 Team
