Retries before reporting a downtime alert

Author: Arun

We recently introduced a nice little enhancement to Site24x7 based on user feedback. It is the 'Send downtime alerts after' option and it gives you the ability to specify the number of consecutive times your website should 'fail' before a downtime alert is send to you.

This option is present in the 'Monitor Website' section under 'Advanced Configuration'. You can specify this either when adding a website to be monitored or from the 'Edit Website Details' screen.

As you all know, it is very common for a single website check to fail, but a check a few minutes or even seconds later might work. By specifying this option, you get a better overall picture of your website's downtime.

What do you think of this enhancement? Would love to hear your feedback.

Btw, just to remind you, the 70% discount offer for special beta users will expire on March 23, 2007.
