[Important Announcement] Site24x7 Authentication System Migration Updates

Posted at: Tuesday, September 9, 2014 12:55 AM PST

The migration process has completed. Thank you for your patience.

You~will be able to login~by~following the instructions~that we have sent to your email from~support@site24x7.com. Please note, your old credentials may NOT work. Yes, we were forced to~send new passwords in an email as we were moving to a system with higher security restrictions and could not migrate without this inconvenience. Please note these are one-time passwords. You can alternatively login by using the "forgot password" workflow route.

With this upgrade Site24x7 has become even more powerful and secure with:

  • Two factor authentication to keep your accounts even more secure
  • Restrict access to your Site24x7 account by IP Address
  • SAML Authentication with which you can enable Active Directory access to your accounts and more.
For clarifications about the authentication system, checkout our elaborate~FAQ~section or contact support. ~Thank you for your patience.

We are facing unexpected issues while testing with some of our test accounts and hence cannot conclude completion of this migration process. Hence we~request you~to~login to your Site24x7 Account with your previous~credentials until we notify you via the usual Site24x7 Login Page or this blog post. The only limitation during this time is that you cannot provide login access to new users in your Site24x7 Account nor downgrade~your account.

The migration process is still in progress. As of now, we anticipate~a delay of 2 3~hours for the migration to be completed. We~expect that full normality will be reached at around~Monday, September 8, 2014 3:00 AM PST.

We have begun migrating the user accounts.~Please~check your mailbox for account specific updates. However~you will be able to sign in with your new credentials only after the migration is completed. We expect this to happen in 4 hours from now and will update~this blog.

FYI: This will have no impact on the monitoring of the~resources in your account. Your old account credentials may work during this migration with access to all modules except User Management.

Update: ~Our sincere apologies to those who may get disturbed by the~email (which in turn may trigger voice or SMS calls via incident management systems) about your user account migration at an odd time of the day. We are forced to run this migration for all users in one go.

As communicated in our mailer a few weeks back, we are enhancing the authentication function in Site24x7 by joining the single sign on system of Zoho.com (Zoho Corp. is our parent company). With all the required activities getting completed, we are now ready to set the ball rolling.

We will start migrating our existing user accounts to Zoho Single Sign On, starting early next week. We are aiming at seamless transition with minimal impact to our existing customers and our development teams are working hard on this.

From an end user perspective you have a lot to benefit such as,

  • Two- factor authentication (TFA) and stronger password enforcement policies for enhanced security of your Site24x7 account
  • IP-based restrictions to limit access to your Site24x7 account
  • Support for SAML authentication in Zoho Single Sign On, for seamless integration with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Easy access to all Zoho.com services

During this migration,

  • All existing Site24x7 users (including admin and sub-users) will receive a mail from support@site24x7.com, indicating the status of the migration. Please whitelist this email.
  • The email will also contain the next steps wherever applicable. We are not listing all possible workflows here because of the variety of possibilities

Visit our FAQ page for any clarifications. If you have any questions please write to us at support@site24x7.com.

We will keep this blog updated with the latest information about this migration. Stay tuned for updates.
